Cosmetic Dentistry

cosmetic dentistry | dentist montgomery alAdvances in dental materials sciences have given us a new approach to an old problem — broken, strained, or discolored front teeth. In a relatively simple procedure, a composite resin or porcelain material is added directly to the roughened enamel surface of the tooth. Often no anesthetic is required. Bonding can be used to close gaps or spaces between teeth or to make crowded teeth appear straight. Cosmetic dentistry can have an impact on a person’s smile that is like magic. Because of these beautiful results, the near instant results and the fact that often bonding can be achieved without anesthesia, bonding is one of the most enjoyable services we provide.

Types of tooth veneer procedures

There are two types of veneer procedures that can correct broken, discolored or misaligned teeth. There are advantages and disadvantages to each type procedure depending on your objectives and commitment to the processes. One or the other may be more appropriate for you.

Composite Veneers (Bonding)

Composite (direct) veneers are usually performed in a single visit and often without anesthesia.. The procedure is an application of a very hard plastic material directly to your teeth. Bonding typically costs about $250 per tooth and lasts about 5-7 years.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain (indirect) veneers are a very thin porcelain covering that is custom made for each tooth. These require two visits to fabricate, costs about the same as porcelain crown and typically lasts 12-15 years.
